Privacy Settings of Facebook are now on the people’s choice
Facebook has had a bad time trying to grab for its own the personal information so confidently provided by the 200-million users in their profiles.
On February, Zuckerberg announced a change in the Terms of Service, that basically left the full ownership of the personal data of the profiles to the good will of Facebook. Of course, it raised an intense debate and the promise of filing a federal suit by the users.

Of course, Zuckerberg and his team retreated, but the debate was sent over the network to fall into the decision of the users of Facebook. After a short term, the feedback of the users through the comments in which they would put their views on security, sharing the profile data and so on, was collected and a new document was written and put out to the public scrutiny.
Yes, Facebook has put into the ballot for the choice of its users, one of two options: 1) Keep on with the current document of TOS agreement. 2) Pick the new Facebook Principles and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (SRR).
Although seemingly democratic, the counterparts have made it clear that they are not satisfied by the mechanism. A Facebook group - "People Against the New Terms of Service" - make it look a bit unserious. According to the statements of the group, it would take millions of votes and possibly, the vast majority of the users will not be aware of the poll.
Nevertheless, it seems to me that the democratic process of choosing one option is fine, at least, there is not another non-intrusive mechanism to obtain a promptly, real-life response. If you are a Facebook user, hurry up, enter the ballot page and let your voice be heard before the deadline - 24th of April.
